Get your cowboy boots dirty, but keep it luxe at this Wyoming ranch retreat.

Yellowstone fans, saddle up for an upscale getaway that’s an essential addition to your bucket list. We experienced 30,000+ acres of Western luxury firsthand at The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch (Saratoga, Wyoming). This dreamy resort situated in the Medicine Bow National Forest is everything we dreamed it would be—and so much more.

It’s understandable why Brush Creek Ranch was rated the #1 Resort Hotel in the U.S. and #3 in the World by Travel + Leisure readers. The snowy winter backdrop, llama snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowga (yoga in the snow) make for an extraordinary winter getaway.

That said, if you choose to visit during the warmer weather, plan to enjoy wine river floating, barrel racing, and horseback picnic rides. (Fun fact: The ranch has two cattle herds and 120 horses!)

For workout enthusiasts, the possibilities are endless, from llama hiking, goat yoga, rope courses, and rock climbing.

Life at the Ranch

Waking up to the aroma of a real farm-to-table ranch breakfast is a true treat. Prepare yourself for warm buttermilk biscuits with honey butter, braised Akaushi wagyu hash, and a delicious grain bowl prepared with garden tomatoes and quinoa lentils. Park yourself by the stone fireplace and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains off in the distance.

After a full day of activities, you can look forward to a meal that’s nothing short of scrumptious and divine. The luxe “pasture-to-plate” experience at Cheyenne Club Restaurant is certainly one for the books. Order yourself some hearth grilled venison saddle that comes directly from the ranch’s wagyu cattle.

Before, during, or after your day’s adventures, expect to find delights like apple cider and “cowboy cookies” in the lobby. These chewy nuggets are filled with chocolate, coconut, pecans, oats, and pure western goodness.

And if you’re a wine lover, listen up! Brush Creek has a 94-yard underground wine tunnel—home to 30,000 bottles—onsite, that’s available for tours and tastings. For an extra special treat, you can choose your bottle of choice from this exclusive, extensive collection to sip and savor with dinner. (And by “extensive,” we mean more than 500 varieties from all over the world!) Brush Creek boasts one of the top 10 biggest wine collections across the globe.

If wine isn’t your alcoholic beverage of choice, try your hand at “barrel thieving” at the Brush Creek Distillery. Here, you can taste bourbon directly from the barrel with a pipette. Or, simply hang around for a tasting and aesthetically pleasing charcuterie board spread.

Life on the ranch is good.

If you’re ready to put on your cowboy hat and head out west, be sure to check out Brush Creek Ranch.
